Most non-South Africans wishing to attend the congress must have a valid visa, which states the purpose and duration of the visit. 

All travellers are recommended to check their visa status with their local South African embassy or consulate. A list of countries exempt from visas for South Africa is provided below for convenience, but it is subject to change without notice. Visa letters of invitation will be provided to attendees requiring one.

The South African Rand (ZAR) is the local currency. All major credit cards are accepted throughout South Africa. Foreign exchange can be done at the airport as well as at all major hotels and a passport will be required for ALL forex transactions. Alternatively cash can be withdrawn using foreign bank cards (check with your local bank or notify them of your trip to South Africa) at most ATMs (there are 2 located at the Century City Conference Centre and Hotel – ABSA and Standard Bank). Notes come in denominations of R10, R20, R50, R100 and R200; and coins come in 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, R1, R2 and R5. There are two R5 coins in circulation, both of which are legal currency. 

Visitors to South Africa who permanently reside in another country are able to claim back the 15% tax paid on all goods purchased during their stay, provided the goods are exported on departure and that goods are purchased from a VAT registered vendor. This can be arranged through the VAT refund offices at Cape Town International Airport. 

When making a purchase, identify yourself to the shop assistant as a foreign visitor and request a TAX INVOICE for the goods purchased.

Delegates should book flights to arrive at Cape Town International Airport.

Although the majority of international flights into Cape Town fly via Johannesburg (OR Tambo International Airport), the following airlines offer direct flights to Cape Town International Airport – Emirates Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Air Mauritius, KLM, British Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air France, Swiss Air.

Metered taxis, Uber and Bolt are available in and around Cape Town and at Cape Town International airport.
